Lifesteps Orientation Thursday, Jan. 2 – 5:30 pm

Wondering if Lifesteps is your solution for your 2014 weight management goals? Come to our orientation on Thursday, Jan. 2 at 5:30pm. It’s open to members and non-members!

Lifesteps Is for People Who:
– Are ready to change behaviors that prevent weight loss.
– Realize that weight loss means a slimmer version of you – not a whole new body.
– Know that you didn’t put weight on overnight and you won’t lose it in two days.
– Want to know how to successfully deal with setbacks.

Trained health professionals conduct the sessions and show you proven weight management techniques. Your personal Lifesteps notebook contains hundreds of ideas for making new eating and exercise habits part of your daily life. Techniques, handouts and activities provided in weekly group sessions show you how you can enjoy the foods you love, achieve the weight you want, and maintain a level of exercise that’s right for you.

ZUMBA Sentao: Takes the thrill of a fitness party and partners it with explosive, chair-based choreography to strengthen, balance, and stabilize your core. LifeSteps Orientation Meeting – Thursday, 8/29 at 5:30 pm

A new session of LifeSteps is quickly approaching! Come to our orientation meeting to learn if LifeSteps is the right fit for your weight loss goals.

LifeSteps is a behaviorally-based weight management program that stresses the importance of diet, physical activity, and behavior modification techniques that are effective in promoting weight loss and maintenance. Group sessions run for 16 weeks 1 hour each week. In addition, individual sessions include an initial assessment, mid program assessment, and a final assessment.

LifeSteps often helps people answer this question, “I know how to eat healthy. But why am I having difficulty making those healthy choices?”

Wellness coach and exercise programming are also available!

Wellness Coaching – What is it and does Fit for Life offer it?

A wellness coach is a trained person who works one on one with clients to help them find ways
to pursue a healthier lifestyle. It is not the same as having a personal trainer, since exercise
is not always the behavior change that needs to occur. Wellness coaches encourage clients to
change aspects of their lives that are most unhealthy which could include, but is not limited to
changing dietary habits, getting more exercise, time management or quitting smoking. A good
coach won’t simply tell clients which behaviors they need to drop or engage in. They work with
a client to figure out how their present life contributes to those behaviors, and what can be
done to make behavior change easier. Wellness Coaching is coming to Fit for Life late summer
of 2013 with two staff members currently working on their certifications.
