Corey Pedri, B.S. Health Promotion and Wellness
My name is Corey Pedri, and I am a full-time Personal Trainer at Fit for Life. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Promotion and Wellness from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and paired it with a minor in Strength and Conditioning. While I was there I had the opportunity to be the assistant strength coach for the UWSP hockey team. I also have had the wonderful opportunity to intern and work at the Mayo Clinic’s Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center. There I was able to expand my knowledge and skills working with a variety of patients.
I have experience working with children, adults of all ages, cardiac rehabilitation patients, various types of injuries, sports conditioning, health coaching, nutrition counseling, and individualized fitness programming. I have had the privilege to lead various types of training including Sports Performance Training, Personal Training, Small & Large Group Personal Training. I enjoy teaching suspension training, and high-intensity interval/circuit training. I believe that I am excellent in pushing my athletes, clients, and class participants to the next level.
I began my career at Fit for Life in August of 2012 and have absolutely loved it ever since. The members and the atmosphere here are amazing! I get to come here every day, build wonderful relationships, and train a wide variety of clientele. This is something that I am truly passionate about. There is nothing better than being able to help people reach their goals and show them that they can do anything that they put their minds to.
I not only focus on workouts but also on nutrition and lifestyle choices as a way to stay in shape and live the life you have always wanted to live. Whether your goal is to increase your fitness level, attain a firmer body, weight loss, sports performance specific, or just overall better health,
I am here to help you achieve it!
DeDe Bluhm-Howie, Certified Personal Trainer/SilverSneakers Instructor
Hello, my name is DeDe Bluhm-Howie. My journey at Fit for Life began in 2010 when I signed my husband and I up for a membership. In 2013 I became a Certified Silver Sneaker Instructor. I currently teach all of the Silver Sneaker classes. In 2019 I received my certification in Personal Training. My love for fitness keeps growing. I work with clients of all ages, from 12 to 88 years young.
I am a Faribault native. Most of my family lives in the surrounding area. My hobbies are running, strength training, riding our Harley Davidson Motorcycle with my husband, and walking my dog. I love animals of all kinds. I enjoy helping people achieve their fitness goals, whatever they may be, from gaining better balance and flexibility to improving strength and cardiovascular fitness.
I am very energetic and I like to find the positive side in any given situation. I hope to stay fit and active for as long as I am able. Fitness has become a passion of mine. My goal is to stay teachable and willing to learn. I believe there is great benefit in movement no matter what the intensity, just move every day! One last thing, there is no such thing as being too old or too late in life to improve any part of your fitness level. The proof is in the members here at Fit for Life. I am honored and proud to be a part of this team.
Katie Reineke, Fitness Instructor
My name is Katie Reineke. I’ve been a fitness instructor in Faribault for 22 years. I’ve been married to my husband Scott for 29 years and we have 4 children (Maeghen, Alexis, Colby, and Niki). We recently entered the empty nest phase of our lives, which I must say we are adjusting to quite nicely.
I have a valued sense of appreciation and excitement for the vital role that health and fitness play in our lives. When we’re young, we might exercise to get into that swimsuit and just being young, we are most likely awarded good health. As we age, however, good health, flexibility and muscular strength are no longer given to us, but must be sought after and worked for!
I’ve been blessed with good health and have always enjoyed being physically activity. I grew up in Arizona where I played on a high school tennis team, summer league soft pitch teams and, despite my lack of height, played volleyball for many years. I used to run but now prefer long brisk walks. I currently teach 1 fitness class a week and play singles on an USTA women’s tennis league.
I hold certifications from ACE and NADITA for Group Fitness Instructor and have earned my CPT certification from NASM. I worked at Northwest Athletic Club (now Lifetime) in Burnsville for 2 years. I studied Exercise Science for 1 year at Dakota Community College where my favorite class was Sports Psychology! I truly believe that exercise, eating right, managing stress and getting proper rest can help us live more active, youthful and happy lives.
I always remind my class participants, “the hardest part of the exercise is getting to the class. I know you’re busy. I know you’re tired. I know there are many other things you think you should be doing with your time. But once you’re here and once you’ve started, you’ll be glad you came and with time, you’ll be rewarded for your effort”. Taking time to exercise and taking care of YOU is a necessity, not a luxury.
